Dunmore Town
Harbor Island has a long and fascinating past.
The historic Dunmore Town was originally the capitol of the Bahamas and today it is still the vibrant centre of the Island with picture perfect pastel painted houses and wonderful local bayside bars and restaurants.
There are fabulous beachside clubs for lunch and dinner and charming colonial style restaurants with international cuisine on the bay. Dance after dinner at the fashionable nightspots in town and watch the sun come up on one of the picturesque docks along the shore. Today Dunmore Town has wonderful boutiques to visit with designer brands alongside hand crafted jewellery, accessories and resort wear.
There are several world class marinas which provide all boating activities from deep sea fishing to scuba diving and charters to neighboring islands to visit deserted beaches and snorkel in pristine waters. Take a boat to “Starfish Alley” in the bay to see the incredible pink starfish on the sand banks and swim with the turtles.
